You could also check if any valves are stuck by having a quick peek under those rocker covers. Please Log in to join the conversation.

Like dieseldog said check the valves, while the covers are off oil the rockers. My suggestion is maybe valves & seats are rusty or rings lack of compression. If u dont wont to remove injectors just remove the intake manifold & squirt oil in the cylinders, while turning it over. Pls don't send it to China - I would be interested. Please Log in to join the conversation.

Even if it needs rebuilding I am building up my collection of Deutz engines. I have a V10, two V8s, straight 4, and a single. I don't have as big a collection as Kel, but if you give up on it I am in Sydney and would be happy to cover that $450 for it just the way it is, complete in trailer of course. Please Log in to join the conversation.
