China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) International, in partnership with Northeast Electric Power Design Institute, has signed an EPC contract for a green ammonia renewable energy project on Batam Island, Indonesia. The project includes a 240 MW solar power plant—comprising both land-based and floating photovoltaic systems—as well as facilities capable of producing 37,500 tons of green ammonia annually.
This is CEEC’s first green ammonia project in Southeast Asia, integrating advanced renewable energy and hydrogen technologies. The company will provide a full-spectrum solution, covering technical design, equipment supply, construction, and operational management, to ensure efficient execution and long-term stability. Once completed, the green ammonia will be exported to Singapore.
The project is expected to play a key role in supporting Southeast Asia’s transition to cleaner energy, contributing to a more sustainable and low-carbon future for the region.
